#16 1983 Mazda RX7

(This blog is part of a series looking at cars that I have had on track. It does not encompass all of the ones I've had the privilege to drive but these were the ones that stood out for one reason or another)

This was the first of several RX7s that I ran mostly in autocrosses. This was the non-limited slip version but it was a blast to drive. The rotary engine was very forgiving and had plenty of power. As the RX7s are known for, it loved to hang the backend out but it was extremely controllable.

Overall a fun car but compared to many of the other cars I've driven it just didn't have the performance to hang with many of them. But it is one of the few cars that given an opportunity to race again, I'd jump at it.
